Harrah’s Flight

Flight to Reno

So you really want to travel in style?  Harrah’s offered me a free flight from San Diego to Reno and all accomidations.  I never took them up on this offer but it sounds quite nice.  The dates where from a Sunday to Wednesday which is not ideal.

Waste of Money – Free Offers

CompMan December 24th, 2006

Since I am such a Las Vegas expert, someone approached me and said they never pay for a Las Vegas hotel.  Infact, he even promised he would show me how to get a free hotel in Las Vegas and $500 in free offers along the way.  It sure sounds fishy, doesn’t it?  I sure thought so.  Well, he made me an offer where I could buy the coupon that allows me to do all this great stuff for only $1.  I did not expect much, but for $1, I bought 10 of them and promised him I would give it a shot.

One week later, I got a package in the mail that had 10 of these coupons in it.

Mail Offer

After flipping the card over, it told me to redeem my coupon I had to go to another web site.  I went to this website and just like I figured, it would cost more money to get my $500 in free Las Vegas savings.  I decided I might as well finish the experment and buy the coupon book.  I do not remember, how much it costs, I believe it was $5 shipping only fees.

After I re-entered my address and credit card info, I got a book in the mail.

Offer Book

This little book came in the mail about a week later.  I paged through every coupon (sorry, I didn’t sepnd the time scanning them all) and there was basically nothing that was worth my time redeeming.  A lot of offers where for places away from the strip or required me to take further action to get the offer.

I will show some real comps on my next update, but if you run accross this one, I would recommend you do not waste your money!

My first comp?

CompMan December 8th, 2006

So, we’ve all been there.  When was the first time you received some for free to help build loyalty to a casino?  Thinking about it, on my 18th birthday, I drove 3 hours to a ferry close to Seattle that took me to Suquamish, this casino allowed gamblors as young as 18.  They sent a limo to pick us up and bring us from the ferry to the casino.

Three years later, I spent my 21st birthday in Las Vegas and ever since, I’ve got a steady stream of mail trying to get me back.  Some casinos are an expert at the making the players feel like kings, other casinos treat the players like garbage.  My theory is, if you are going to gamble the money anyways, you might as well loose it where they treat you good!

I will continue with a series of posts that shows you the actual mailers I receive.

Welcome to Comps Las Vegas!

CompMan December 4th, 2006

Hello and welcome to CompsLasVegas.com! This site will become a resource that allows Las Vegas patrons to share the comps they are offered to the general public, to give them a feel for what Las Vegas Casino’s offer patrons for their play.  It will start with me, sharing the comps I receive and hopefully expand into three or four others sharing their comps as well.

Currently, I gamble quite regularly at the Harrah’s properties and have not tried the other casinos too heavily.  Part of this site will be me experimenting with some of the other sites and see what they offer for my play.  On one of my next trips I will attempt to get a card from the other groups.

This blog will be updated two to three times a week for right now, as long as I keep getting offers.  You are welcome to comment or ask questions.

My main game is Blackjack and I bet an average of $50 per hand or so.  I have been playing for four years.  I have been learning how to play craps, texas hold’em and a couple other casino games along the way.  Slots definitely do not interest me currently, so if you are a slot player who receive comp offers, drop me a message about posting what you get and you can help me build this resource!

Enjoy our site!
